Here are some of the most FAQs on HF-B3G
What kind of battery does this use? Is it internal and rechargeable or do you place the batteries inside and if so, what size / type battery?
This device uses regular 9v battery (comes with it). You can use any rechargeable 9v battery. But, before you buy this device, I need to let you know that I find it to be no so accurate. The numbers keep jumping up and down, in high values, making the device useless. It has a way to lock on the max value, but does not show the real time number. I am going to send the supplier an email asking them if this is expected. I used to have an analog one, and it showed some small/ minute variation in readings, but still manageable. I bought this digital device, because I thought I can get a better, accurate reading. This might be more detail than expected, but hope it is useful.
Will this meter measure the frequency from a high voltage power line running in front of our land? Need to know how far to build for it to be safe?
The HF-B3G won't measure low frequency EMF. In order to do so we recommend you using the MG-300 or the MG-2000T.
Will this read Wi-Fi signals?
Yes, the HF-B3G is capable of reading Wi-Fi signals. It measures radio frequency waves in the range of 50MHz - 3.5GHz.
Does this meter measure low frequency as well?
This meter only measures high frequency electromagnetic fields in the frequency range of 50MHz to 3.5GHz.
Why are there separate axis settings and when to use same separately?
The 3-axis settings are normally used and in this mode, the reading calculated automatically. In case you wish to measure each axis separately you can do it.
Does this meter detect radiation from smart meters?
The HF-B3G detects radiation from smart meters and from other sources such as cell towers, cell phones, cordless phones, Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth devices, and microwaves.
Can this meter pinpoint the source of the radiation?
Yes, you will be able to pinpoint the source if you note where you get the highest readings. But you need to make sure that your cellphone is switched off while you are performing the readings, to avoid any interference.
I have Electric Company power lines approximately 100 yds from my house, will this unit measure the energy?
No, this meter will only measure high frequency radiation. You would recommend the Latnex MG-2000T/TD if you wish to measure radiation emitting from power lines.
What does this meter measure?
The HF-B3G measures RF/High frequency. The applications of this meter is: RF power measurement for transmitters, high frequency (RF) electromagnetic wave field strength measurement, mobile phone base station antenna radiation power density measurement, spy camera/wireless bug finder, wireless communication applications, wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) detection/installation, cellular/cordless phone radiation safety level, microwave oven leakage detection, and personal living environment EMF safety.
